Two dates on the Aviles Hair Studio team page tell most of the story. Rhonda, a master stylist, has been with the salon since 2017. Gaby has been there since 2018. Both joined while the founders, Carlos and Pedro, ran the salon, and both are still on the page now that Madison and Mohammed own it.
Madison told Orlando Voyager in February 2025 that she and Mohammed took over the existing salon at 26 and 27, and that many of its stylists had been there for years. The salon they bought had already grown well past its first room.
Three chairs, then nine
"Aviles Hair Studio was the idea of my husband Pedro and he opened up a space with three chairs," Carlos told WESH in November 2022. "We have since expanded." By then the salon had nine chairs and 22 service rooms.
In April 2019 the couple bought the building at 23 Broadway, and that August the Downtown Kissimmee Area Council gave the salon its Downtown Beautification Award for the curb appeal they had added, according to the Osceola Chamber. Mohammed told Voyage Tampa in July 2026 that he and Madison now also own Shampoo the Salon in Tampa and a medical spa.
Who to ask for
The team page doubles as a guide to who does what. Rhonda has more than 20 years in the beauty industry, including time as an educator at FTC and the Aveda Institute. Gaby has been styling since 2010, is certified in Brazilian Blowout and Fios Keratin, and also does facial threading. Erica, a Brazilian colorist, works in Portuguese, Spanish and English and specializes in blonde and brunette transformations, including the Brazilian morenailuminada look. Her line on the site is "Before and after. Color and finish." On the nail side, Brandi teaches SNS dip systems in Orlando.
The salon also keeps a private, hijab-friendly suite in the spa space next door. Appointments there are booked by phone with Erica and need a deposit.
What clients say
Google showed 4.9 stars from 929 reviews on Nov. 1, 2026, and friendly staff is the topic reviewers mention most, in 282 of them. Angela booked Gaby for butterfly layers and wrote that Gaby "was absolutely amazing!" Each of the first five reviews Google showed had a reply from the salon.
Booking, hours and prices
Book through the BOOK NOW button on the website or call (407) 201-6173. The awards page says walk-ins are welcome too. Hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On the pricing page, which I checked on Nov. 1, 2026, a woman's short haircut is $60, a curly cut is $85, balayage starts at $250 after a required consultation, and a Brazilian Blowout starts at $350. Men's cuts are $45 on the pricing page and $40 and up on the homepage. Regular clients can stop in for the annual Thankful for You event on Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free coffee or matcha.
What I noticed
What I noticed: Google, the website and the salon's own captions place Aviles in downtown Kissimmee. The Instagram bio and the Linktree header, when I checked on Nov. 1, 2026, say "Orlando, FL." Someone who finds the salon on Instagram first sees a different city than the one Maps shows, and matching location details across a business's profiles help search engines treat them as one business. Changing those two lines to "Downtown Kissimmee, FL," the phrase the salon already uses in its own captions, would take a few minutes. The bio can keep "Voted Best Salon in Orlando & Osceola" for the wider reach.
If you are looking for a stylist who will still be there next year, ask for Rhonda or Gaby. Book at Aviles Hair Studio. You'll be glad you did.
