A Passenger's Question Put Salah Adam Behind a Barber Chair in Kissimmee

Sharp & Clean Barbershop is a two-chair shop inside Main Gate Flea Market. Its owner found his way there from the driver's seat of an Uber.

Salah Adam was driving for Uber when the passenger in his back seat, a psychiatrist, asked him a question he later repeated to Orlando Voyager: "What is a profession you would wake up early for every day and do for free, just because you love it?"

For Salah, the answer was cutting hair. He now runs Sharp & Clean Barbershop in Building D of Main Gate Flea Market on W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy in Kissimmee, which he calls "a small two-chair shop with a big heart." In that September 2025 interview he said he had opened it three years earlier.

From his father's beard to a flea market

Salah came to the U.S. through the lottery system and drove Uber to make ends meet, he told Orlando Voyager. The barbering started long before either. As a teenager he insisted on cutting his father's hair and beard, then moved on to his siblings, and he gave free haircuts at a nursing home. He studied barbering in Morocco and in the U.S. and worked in several shops alongside barbers from different cultures before he went out on his own.

He was frank about the early stretch. Weekdays inside the flea market were slow, and he was mostly on his own. "What started as a simple experiment has now become a place I truly love, and where I continue to grow every day," he said. He also told the interviewer he hopes to build a chain of barbershops one day, with the same quality as the first.

The 75-minute chair

The shop's signature service carries its name. Booksy lists the Sharp and Clean Experience at an hour and 15 minutes: a precision haircut and beard trim with a hot towel finish, a Noxzema face treatment, a massage with hot and cold towel therapy, a cervical massage, eyebrow cleanup and hairline enhancement. The Hot Towel Shave is a shorter version of the same ritual, with a mask, an exfoliating treatment, hot towels, a straight razor and a face massage.

The website describes the place in the same spirit: "Beyond exceptional haircuts, we offer a healing space to escape and find solace."

What regulars say

On Booksy, where the shop shows 5.0 stars from 339 reviews, Daniel wrote on Oct. 31, 2026: "I've been going for 4 years and always look good. Very detailed." Google shows 5.0 from 170 reviews, and attention to detail is the topic reviewers raise most. The shop answers some of them by name. To Kenneth, it wrote: "Looking forward to seeing you again next month."

Booking, hours and prices

Sharp & Clean is appointment-only, according to its Booksy page and Instagram bio. Book on Booksy or message (407) 561-2222 on WhatsApp. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations or no-shows carry a $20 fee. Google lists the hours as Thursday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. One other listing shows a short Tuesday, so check Booksy before planning a Tuesday cut.

When I checked Booksy on Nov. 1, 2026, a detailed fade or classic haircut was $30, a cut with a beard trim was $50, and the Sharp and Clean Experience was $120. The shop's website lists some of the same services at slightly different prices, and Booksy shows the price at the moment you book.

What I noticed

What I noticed: Salah already knows where new clients look. He told Orlando Voyager that people often find barbers through Instagram or TikTok, and that barbers who show their work online have an advantage. His own Instagram feed stops on Aug. 11, 2025, with a short video captioned "Just a quick trim or a whole new vibe? You decide!" Booksy kept collecting reviews in August, September and October 2026, so customers are still coming, but a first-time customer checking Instagram sees a feed that has been quiet for more than a year. The last 12 posts were all short videos of finished cuts, so the format is already his. One clip a week, posted to Instagram and to the TikTok account the website links, would show new customers what the Booksy reviews already say.

Book a chair at Sharp & Clean on Booksy, and if you have the time, take the full 75 minutes. You'll be glad you did.
