What does North Fox Digital do?
Neil helps businesses and nonprofits describe potentially relevant records, understand open questions, and decide whether a buyer introduction makes sense. North Fox Digital is independent. It does not act as an employee, agent, or authorized representative of a buyer.
Can I start without sending files?
Yes. Begin with the type of work you document, the systems involved, usable history, and who can approve a review. The website has no dataset-upload or system-connection step. Use the inventory guide to prepare a description. Keep individual records, credentials, contracts, and confidential files in your own systems.
What does the dollar estimate mean?
It is a planning figure derived from recorded U.S. outputs of a public buyer calculator. North Fox Digital selects a midpoint from an observed or interpolated provider interval and rounds it. The source interval stays visible in the result. A midpoint is a display choice, not the most likely offer. Read the methodology for the inputs and reference rules.
Is that annual revenue or a net payment?
The source calculator does not specify a payment period, gross or net basis, license duration, exclusivity, or fee basis. Those terms remain unknown. A proposed agreement must establish the actual arrangement. A buyer can decline or offer outside the source interval, and no deal means no licensing revenue.
What if we are small, have limited history, or do not know the exact figures?
The estimator accepts unknown employee count and history and discloses substituted reference inputs. Inputs outside the observed domain use a labeled boundary reference. Incomplete records also receive reference treatment. Those rules do not determine eligibility across all buyers; a specialist collection or smaller organization may need an individual discussion.
Do more record categories increase the estimate?
No. Categories do not stack prices or multiply the dollar result. They help describe the collection and identify next questions. Rights, authority, completeness, and nonprofit status affect conditions and reference labels without creating invented monetary discounts or bonuses.
Can a nonprofit explore licensing?
Yes, a nonprofit can begin a conversation about material it controls and a proposed use that fits its mission. Buyer eligibility and demand need individual review. Some licensing programs consider nonprofits, but acceptance depends on the program and the collection. The nonprofit path explains the rights, approvals, and mission questions. The estimator supplies a business reference rather than a nonprofit valuation.
What records should stay out of the first inquiry?
Keep customer, donor, beneficiary, employee, student, patient, and other individual records out of the form. Do not send payment information, security details, access instructions, credentials, or raw datasets. A broad organizational description is enough to start. Any later material review needs its own agreed scope and protections.
Does removing names make records ready to license?
No. Ownership, contract restrictions, confidentiality, privacy, and authority still require review. De-identification is a process whose limits depend on the material; it is not a blanket permission or a promise of zero identification risk. Start with the rights and permissions worksheet.
Will an inquiry be sent to buyers automatically?
No. A contact request permits Neil to reply about that inquiry. A named buyer introduction requires your separate agreement. The contact form does not grant a data license, authorize source-system access, or distribute an organization to every buyer.
What does the initial review cost?
The estimator, initial review, and introductions are free to the organization. A licensing company may pay North Fox Digital a referral fee if an introduction results in a qualifying transaction. Neil discloses the relevant relationship before proceeding. A separate counterparty may propose its own costs or seller fees; review those actual terms.
Can we meet locally?
Neil is based in the Orlando area, with in-person conversations by arrangement across Central Florida. Video and email are also available. Use the contact page to describe the organization and your preferred way to connect. No record files are needed for the first conversation.
What happens if a buyer is interested?
You decide whether to approve the introduction. The counterparty then reviews fit and proposes its own scope and process. Any source-material review, preparation, access, permitted uses, payment, and continuing obligations require separate consideration. Use the offer-review guide to prepare the questions.
Can you guarantee a sale, an amount, or a timeline?
No. North Fox Digital has no verified closed-deal history or transaction-calibrated pricing model to publish. Buyer interest and terms depend on the actual collection and review. You can use the preparation resources to make the next conversation more specific, without assuming a transaction will follow.
